The Passion Is The Purpose

By Apostle Blake L. Higginbotham

A perspective of suffering that includes the grace and faith to endure it. The scripture teaches that Yahshua suffered and learned obedience through the things He suffered. He is the pattern Son and we will not enter the Kingdom of Yahweh, nor will our lives be filled with purpose without learning how to overcome in painful and less than desirable situations.

Philippians 3:7:11 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Messiah. (Christ, Anointed One, Anointed, Anointing) 8Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Messiah Yahshua my Sovereign, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Messiah (Christ, Anointed One, Anointed, Anointing) 9and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, (Religious Criterion, Modified Behavior) but that which is through faith in Messiah, the righteousness which is from Yahweh by faith; 10that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Fellowship - G2842 êïéíùíßá koinoônia koy-nohn-ee'-ah From G2844; partnership, that is, (literally) participation, or (social) intercourse, or (pecuniary) benefaction:—(to) communicate (-ation), communion, (contri-), distribution, fellowship.
Suffering G3804 ðÜèçìá patheôma path'-ay-mah From a presumed derivative of G3806; something undergone, that is, hardship or pain; subjectively an emotion or influence:—affection, affliction, motion, suffering.

Acts 1:1-3 The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Yahshua began both to do and teach, 2until the day in which He was taken up, after He through Ruach Haqudesh (Holy Spirit) had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, 3to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering (Passion – KJV) by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of Yahweh.

Passion- G3958 ðÜó÷ù, ðÜèù, ðÝíèù paschoô pathoô penthoô pas'-kho, path'-o, pen'-tho Apparently a primary verb (the third form used only in certain tenses for it); to experience a sensation or impression (usually painful):—feel, passion, suffer, vex.

If we are going to walk in covenant with Yahshua and one another, we are going to have to be prepared to experience some uncomfortable situations. It is a part of the maturation process and we must learn to embrace suffering and painful places in our lives with the right understanding.

Acts 14:21-23 And when they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, 22strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations (Pressure, Pain, Suffering, Trouble & Sorrow) enter the kingdom of Yahweh.” 23So when they had appointed elders in every church (local assembly), and prayed with fasting, they commended them to Yahweh in whom they had believed.

Tribulation - G2347 èëßøéò - thlipsis - thlip'-sis From G2346; pressure (literally or figuratively):—afflicted, (-tion), anguish, burdened, persecution, tribulation, trouble.

In order to enter and stay in the Kingdom of Yahweh, you must come to realize that the journey is your destiny, and that the things that you experience and endure while on the journey, are specifically designed for the purpose of working the Kingdom of Yahweh into you.

Yahshua became a partaker of flesh and blood, was tempted, and endured suffering so the he would know how to help us when we suffer being tempted. Yahshua did not suffer because of rebellion, disobedience or sin.

He did not experience or endure what He did because of mingled seed, or the mixture of a divided heart. He was not suffering from spiritual schizophrenia and the split personality of a dual life. He suffered and endured what He did as you, and by do so fulfilled the practical will and purpose of Yahweh for His own life.

Hebrews 2:14-18 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
15and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 16For indeed He does not give aid to angels; but He does give aid (helps, sends a care package) to the seed of Abraham. 17Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to Yahweh, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted; He is able to aid (help, send a care package to) those who are tempted.

Hebrews 5:8 - though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.

Yahshua learned the importance of obedience by enduring what it would mean to suffer as you, in Humanity. He did not suffer because He needed to become obedient. Yahshua was an obedient Son; but because He needed to know what it meant to be confronted with the choices that temptation brings, He suffered so that He could rightfully help those who do not make the right choices in life. Because He was a Son, He overcame in every area of His life.

1 Peter 4:1-2 Therefore, since Messiah suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of Yahweh.

Proverbs 20:30 Blows that hurt cleanse away evil, as do stripes the inner depths of the heart. (Literally – the rooms of the belly) NKJV

I Peter 5:10-11 But may the Elohim of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Messiah Yahshua, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.11To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
